Construction Process

Pre construction Meeting

Roughly three weeks before your installation, we will set up this meeting to ensure we are all on the same page. The meeting will be with you, the hardscape/landscape company, and our installer. We will cover grade, location of the pool, rough grade vs. final grade, and any other questions you might have.

Equipment delivery and day of dig

Next will be us showing up with our equipment to dig, or the equipment showing up before us is also common. Pool equipment such as pump, filter, and others will arrive on a pallet and be dropped off around the day we show up to dig or beforehand.

On the day we begin to dig, we will first lay out the pool with you and make sure with you, the homeowner, that the hole and pool will be where you want them.

Install Starts

As we dig, gravel will be dropped off for us to prepare to start constructing the base for your pool. Backfill material is not included in our bid price, as it depends heavily on the pool size and the state of your ground after we dig it. Often we find as we dig that certain aspects of the surrounding soil are different from the standard required for a fiberglass insert. So if your soil is less than needed, we will dig beyond what the dig plan calls for until we hit the solid ground we can trust as the base for your pool. We can not use dirt as a backfill, being it will end up compressing. Also, it allows water to collect around the pool instead of draining away from the shell.

Suppose your situation calls for us to remove dirt, and you have a tighter space to stage material. In that case, we may remove dirt from your property as we have rock hauled in, so we don't have to have large piles of rock and soil. Removing excavated material allows us to maximize the space available to us. After we prepare the base, the pool will be waiting or arriving shortly. The pool will be placed in the hole with an excavator, telehandler, or crane. Before we ultimately place the pool on the base, we will measure the distance from the set point of your home or other structure to ensure the pool is where you requested it.

Ownership starts to set in!

After we prepare the base, the pool will be waiting or arriving shortly. The pool will be placed in the hole with an excavator, telehandler, or crane. Before we ultimately place the pool on the base, we will measure the distance from the set point of your home or other structure to ensure the pool is where you requested it.

Once the pool is placed on the ground, we will check the level of the pool and start to plumb, filling the pool with water and backfilling around it with stone all at the same time. Next, we will begin backfilling the trench for plumbing and electrical as long as the needed inspections are completed.

Moving Fast!

Once the pool is placed on the ground, we will check the level of the pool and start to plumb, filling the pool with water and backfilling around it with stone all at the same time. Next, we will begin backfilling the trench for plumbing and electrical as long as the needed inspections are completed.

After these steps, now is the time for the concrete or hardscape subs to finish around the pool. We do not provide concrete through Regional Pool Group. We might hire subcontractors if your bid included concrete. We do not pour the concrete bonding beam needed either. All concrete is done separately from Regional pool Group.

After the concrete is poured, Regional Pool Group will come back to your home at some point after the electrical and plumbing are done and walk you through your new pool. We call this "pool school." Once pool school is completed, we will still be in touch to ensure the hardscaping is going well and check on your pool to ensure all is satisfactory.

Wrapping up!

After a successful installation, we will be tidying up around the project and being sure we are fully prepared for the hardscape crew to come through and make your backyard beautiful again. We will leave the pool full of water and have a 1-3 foot ribbon of gravel surrounding the entire pool. The hardscape company will then install your finished decking. If you have purchased an auto cover, this will be partially installed first so your finished decking will cover the track it uses to open and close.
