Equipment Delivery and Dig Day
Equipment arrives around the day of the dig. We first lay out the pool area with you to confirm the location. Pool equipment like pumps and filters will be delivered on a pallet either on or before the dig day. We will also map out the pool with you, the homeowner, to ensure that the hole and pool are where you want them.
Installation Begins
Gravel is delivered to create a solid base for your pool. Backfill material is not included in our bid price because it depends on the pool size and soil condition after digging. We ensure the dig depth is adjusted based on soil conditions for a stable foundation. If necessary, we dig deeper to reach solid ground. Dirt cannot be used as backfill as it compresses and traps water. In tight spaces, we may remove dirt as we bring in rock.
Ownership Starts to Set In!
After preparing the base, the pool will be delivered and placed using an excavator, telehandler, or crane. We measure the distance from your home or other structures to ensure accurate placement. Once the pool is in place, we check its level and begin plumbing. We fill the pool with water and simultaneously backfill around it with stone. Next, we backfill the trenches for plumbing and electrical systems, provided the necessary inspections are completed.
Moving Fast!
After the pool is placed and leveled, it’s time for concrete or hardscape subcontractors to finish around the pool. Regional Pool Group does not provide concrete directly but may hire subcontractors if included in your bid. We do not pour the concrete bonding beam either; all concrete work is separate from Regional Pool Group. After the concrete is poured, we will return for “pool school,” a walkthrough of your new pool. Once pool school is completed, we will still be in touch to ensure the hardscaping is going well and check on your pool to ensure all is satisfactory.
Wrapping Up!
After a successful installation, we tidy up the project area, preparing it for the hardscape crew. We leave the pool full of water and a 1-3 foot ribbon of gravel around it. The hardscape company will then install your finished decking. If you’ve purchased an auto cover, it will be partially installed first, allowing the decking to cover the track for opening and closing.
