Open communication is key. We want to ensure your satisfaction and address any concerns you may have throughout the process. Please ask questions freely to avoid surprises.
During the pool installation process, your yard will be significantly disrupted, but it can be repaired, and grass will regrow.
We will perform rough grading, but you’ll need to arrange for final grading and landscaping. We’re happy to recommend reputable landscapers. Our subcontractor may assist with this, but this must be discussed and agreed upon at the time of purchase.
The electric work is not included in the pool contract. Budget approximately $5,000 to $6,000 for electrical work, though this can vary depending on your specific needs (new panels, auto covers, heat pumps, etc.).
If you choose to hire your own electrician, there are items to consider for safety. #8 grounding/bonding wire (halo) that needs to surround the pool border and connect to any metal, handrail, or rails for auto cover. The homeowner is responsible for making sure that the hired electrician is available by Thursday of the installation week to avoid delays and potential additional charges. If your electrician is not timely and prevents us from completing your project in the expected timeframe, we will request final payment early.
This is also an item you, the homeowner, can contract yourself. If you choose to have a Regional Pool Group subcontractor, your price will be noted on the contract.
A sump hole is a 6′ deep, 8″ diameter hole that is installed as part of your pool installation. It is positioned near the pool’s deep end, within the 3′ perimeter of the pool. The sump hole allows you to monitor groundwater levels. You are responsible for purchasing and maintaining a sump pump to remove excess water if needed.
Regional Pool Group is not responsible for driveways, sidewalks, fences, playsets, sheds, sprinkler systems, sewer drainage, trampolines, or similar items.
Regional Pool Group is only responsible for a rough grade in areas other than the 2′ border around the pool. You will need to arrange for a landscaping or hardscaping company to complete the final grading. If you would like us to do the grading, then we should discuss it during the pre-construction meeting.
While obtaining the necessary permits is ultimately the homeowner’s responsibility, RPG will actively assist and guide you through the process. In Ohio, we will handle all permit applications and cover up to $200 in permit fees. If the fees exceed this amount, we will invoice you for the difference and add it to your final payment.
For the final inspection, we will need your cooperation, as there are items outside of the pool installation that fall under your responsibility. If you live in a community with a Homeowners Association (HOA), please provide us with their contact information so we can facilitate communication and ensure compliance with any specific requirements. Additionally, some municipalities may have additional requirements, such as bonds.
We are committed to making the permit process as smooth as possible and will proactively address any challenges that may arise. Please be prepared to assist us as needed to ensure the timely and successful completion of your project.
Yes, we offer an Assisted Pool Installation Program where you can buy the shell and receive limited help with installation.
Pool School is a session scheduled after installation where we familiarize you with your new pool answer any additional questions. Depending on weather, concrete, and inspections, pool school will be scheduled not long after the pool installation has been completed.
Yes, there will be subcontractors involved in your project.
Regional Pool Group is responsible for the pool installation itself. From digging, setting the pool , backfilling , filling of water, setting system on pad, to getting the system running within the first week.
Other subcontractors may be involved (e.g., for electrical, gas, concrete work, cranes, pool service). We may refer one of these to you, but unless specified in the contract, you are responsible for coordinating with them, making payments, and addressing any questions specific to their services. We’re happy to help with coordination if needed.
This is an additional cost if you choose to get a gas heater. You can use your preferred contractor or one we recommend.
The bonding beam is the last item that bonds the pool to the ground. It is a concrete beam poured around the pool perimeter, essential for fiberglass pools. The bonding beam is also a requirement for Imagine Pools and is not yet included in the pool installation price. We can provide instructions for your concrete or paver contractor, or our concrete contractor can include it in their service.
